About FAMA

Faith in Action for Stronger Neighborhoods

Faith Action Ministry Alliance, Inc. (FAMA) is a Christian ministry alliance that brings residents, churches, businesses, public agencies, nonprofits, volunteers, and donors together to strengthen neighborhoods from the inside out.

FAMA began with a simple conviction: that a neighborhood becomes stronger not when programs are brought in from the outside, but when the people, talents, and relationships already inside it are cultivated and coordinated. That conviction shaped the FAMA Model — treating a neighborhood like a garden.

As a Christian ministry alliance, we believe faith is meant to be lived out in practical love for our neighbors. So we show up — in schools, on the streets, in senior's homes, at community events, and alongside partners who share the work. We don't do it alone, and we don't pretend to. FAMA's strength is in the alliance: the churches, businesses, agencies, nonprofits, volunteers, and donors who choose to strengthen a neighborhood together.

The Garden Model

We treat a neighborhood like a garden — listening first, then cultivating the strengths already there.

Faith-Rooted

Our work is grounded in Christian faith and the call to love our neighbor in practical ways.

Relational

Relationships come before programs. People are the point, not the means.

Collaborative

We bring churches, businesses, government, nonprofits, and neighbors together into one strategy.

The FAMA Model

A Neighborhood Is a Garden

We begin by listening: What does this neighborhood need to become stronger, and who already has the talents, resources, and relationships to help? Then we select the field, remove the barriers, cultivate the assets, help families grow, and strengthen the neighborhood — together.
