A Future FAMA Initiative

Preparing Neighborhoods Before the Emergency

Community Resilience is a future initiative FAMA is building — a coordinated approach to helping neighborhoods prepare, respond, and recover together. Resilience is built before the storm, not after, and we're inviting partners to help launch it.

In a neighborhood, resilience is more than a plan on a shelf. It's the relationships, the check-ins, the volunteers, and the communication lines that are already in place when a crisis arrives. FAMA's Community Resilience initiative is being designed to help neighbors prepare together, respond together, and recover together — supported by partner organizations across the community.

This initiative is currently in development. As we build it out, we're seeking partners, volunteers, and funders who want to help stand it up in the neighborhoods we serve.

Prepare

Resident identification, emergency communications, volunteer teams, and preparedness education — before a crisis arrives.

Respond

Neighborhood communication, senior check-ins, volunteer deployment, and resource coordination when disaster strikes.

Recover

Cleanup, resource navigation, long-term recovery, and environmental restoration — walking with neighborhoods afterward.

Community Resilience isn't a program FAMA is running alone — it's an initiative we're building with partners. Your support, expertise, or volunteer commitment can help us prepare vulnerable neighborhoods before the next emergency.
